There are DJs who turn up and play tracks, and then there are DJs that redefine what a DJ does. That person is D:Fuse; a producer, drummer, and vocalist who has taken DJing and moved it into a new arena where live instrumentation, infectious energy and flawless music selection seats him in a classification all his own. This dynamic combination has earned D:Fuse a slot in the top 35 DJs in America 3 years running (DJ Times). As a producer, D:Fuse's tracks have appeared on Global Underground, Perfecto, System, Virgin, & Moonshine and his unique musical style is reflected in the variety of DJs who have hammered his tracks over the years; from Sasha & Armin Van Buren to Danny Howells, Danny Teneglia and Carl Cox. Welcome to the world of D:Fuse, where music never settles on one style; moving seamlessly between the parameters of house and progressive while always keeping a funky edge to move the floor. This is music beyond the ordinary. This weeks special guest mix is D:Fuse.
"For me, it's all about bringing that feeling to the people. Creating a dynamic journey with the music and playing live percussion to intensify the energy is part of that. I want the crowd to know that I'm not just there to play tracks. I'm there with them and feeling all the same things they're experiencing. When I'm in the booth or on stage something switches on inside me, and it all builds from there." -D:Fuse

Made By Monkeys ft. Darcy Conroy - I Think Of You (original mix) [KULT]
Made By Monkeys might seem like an outlandish moniker to record under, but rest assured the duo of Astrochimp and M Keys has the musical chops to call themselves whatever they like and get away with it. "This identity gives us the creative freedom only a monkey could experience" explains Astrochimp, a rather well-spoken simian. Both met at school, presumably the NASA Space Program, at a very early age and have been producing music ever since. Astrochimp handles the drum programming, mixing and engineering and M Keys is the keyboard prodigy who wrote his first composition at the age of five. Indeed, the monkeys have taken over the zoo... They have a live explosive performance much like Daft Punk, and the Chemical Brothers that must be seen.
Schodt - Tokyo Dawn (Dinka remix) [Cool Vibes]
Progressive.melodic.house. Mix those three keywords together, add a touch of emotion, and you'll have a pretty good taste of the style of Danish musician "Schodt" a.k.a Henrik Schodt. This flavorful blend is manifested through Henrik's ambition to share the music that he pushes to the edge of the genre, delivering original and classic tracks to the progressive scene.
DJ DLG - Just Be Yourself [Huge]
With so many success stories in the history of electronic music, DJ DLG is a story of hard work and dedication to his craft. His approach to his production, and to have people hear a new sound, pushes him to continue to break new barriers. For over six years, DJ DLG has been releasing his unique brand of electro, new wave, disco and big room house music. DJ DLG is excited to present his Live PA performances on stages around the world, allowing him to create and remix his set right there in front of the crowd. The DJ DLG live experience has received rave reviews, and is something not to be missed!
Taito Tikaro, J.Louis & Ferran - Shine On Me (Robbie Rivera remix) [NEWS]
Taito Tikaro, J.Louis & Ferran may not all be familiar household names yet, but that’s only because they are legends of Ibiza that never needed to leave. They have a style that just makes you want to dance. A hard grooving, deep pumping dance that just screams for celebration. If you enjoy this track, also check out “Burning Inside”. It’s ridiculously good. Then you’ll see why Spain wanted to keep these guys for themselves and why Nocturnal Radio would like to share them with the rest of the world.

Yvel & Tristan ft. Chriss Of The Quasa - Panama (Stan Kolevs remix) [Ready Mix]
Yvel & Tristan got real appreciation from around 2003. At first, as it use to be, the hungarian electronic music scene discovered the talent of the guys. They are a general favorite nubreed producer duo for the hungarian DJs. Their fame rests upon their new productions that were filled with emotions and melody.
Paul Anthony & ZXX ft. Jen Bonesteel - Day By Day
Paul Anthony and ZXX are two American DJs representing Chicago. In the track “Day By Day”, you wouled easily mistake them for deadmau5, but what makes them unique is their ability to remix on multiple platforms. Electro house? Check. Progressive? Check. Hip-Hop? Absolutely. They give their own unique Chicago dance flavor even to Lil’ Wayne’s A Milli. Worth Checking out coming to a town near you soon!
JayQuik ft. Stephanie Tiangco - Cry Of Creation (Stryke's dub edit) [Nervous]
The original version of this song was recorded live and performed by Stephanie Tiangco, engineered by Javier Carrion and remixed by Jay Quik. I took all the live parts and used instruments available in Pro Tools to finish and remix. The difficulty with remixing this song is that it was in 7/8 time, which doesn’t work well at all for dance tracks that are traditionally in 4/4. It was a challenge, but was great fun! - JayQuik

Pryda - Reeperbahn (original mix) [Pryda Recordings]
Eric Prydz is on a roll at the moment, without doubt leading the way. His labels Mouseville, Pryda and Pryda Friends are positively brimming with underground club hits. Ultimately he wanted to control his own image and destiny, something extremely important to him and his career. The ethos behind the labels was truly underground, scarcely any promotion, no press intrusion and true label design/identity... a formula which has proven massively successful. Reeperbahn is a surprising track. Different percussion style to what Eric Prydz is used to. Hypnotic African voices and a promising breakdown with some nice pads and lead synth is what this forthcoming release shows us.
Glenn Morrison pres. Musetta - Nicotine (Glenn Morrison remix) [Armada]
Starting off this set we have a guy that is one of my favorite producers. Glenn Morrison. (In my opinion the real genius behind his previous duo with deadmau5.) From grainy screeching acid lines to lush ethereal progressive, this jack of all trades does it all and well. Notice the harmonizing of the vocals and the flute. “Nicotine” is like Jethro Tull in the electronic dance era.
| NOCTURNAL D:FUSE INTERVIEW |
by Katie TiaeKatie - Welcome back to the nocturnal hot seat. How is the new album “Clubbing in Lost Angeles (Vol.1- Early Hours)” coming along?
D:FUSE – Mike Hiratzka and I are really excited about the new album. It’s a collection of club tracks and remixes we’ve written over the last year or so along with a few unreleased tracks we wrote for the album. The songs are mixed together and it really creates a seamless journey that moves from house and tech house and then into more peak-time progressive. We’ve gotten really amazing reviews on singles from the album from Sasha, Markus Schulz, Miguel Migs, Andy Moor, Jerome Isma-Ea, and Matt Darey himself so we feel this is a very strong release for us. It was released world-wide on May 12th.
Katie - Last time we spoke you mentioned you were more of an outdoors person, where is your favourite place to camp and lay under the stars?

D:FUSE – There’s a few places in California where I love to camp. The Big Bear Mountains are amazing; the sequoia national forest is also incredible. California has so many outdoor treasures and it’s such a varied landscape. But to see the stars you have to go to Joshua Tree desert. I’ve been camping there 3 times this year. I’ve never seen anything like it. You hike out into the desert with your ipod, put on some ambient music, and just sink into the universe. Camping=2 0really recharges your batteries and helps you keep perspective on things.
Katie - How did the bike ride on route 66 go for environmental awareness?
D:FUSE – We’ve put the ride on hold during the economic downturn so we’ve retooled Earth:66 a bit. We are still directing people to the site where people can learn about 4 simple things they can do to lessen their footprint at www.earth66ride.com
I’ve also committed to riding my bicycle 1,000 miles this year on errands I would usually do in my car. We’ve also committed to writing tracks as carbon-free as possible in the studio, from recycling 80% of what we use & eliminating bottled water, to switching our power source to renewable energy through the green program in Los Angeles.
Katie -How pumped can you truly get yourself before riding such a long way on a bike?
D:FUSE – It’s really a lot easier to ride long distances on a bike than most people think. The key is to get the right bike for what you are doing or to outfit the bike you already own properly. Also doing a variety of training is good. I’m really into circuit training at the gym, running, and yoga. Oh yeah- also get a comfortable seat! You’ll find your bum definitely needs to be comfortable.
Katie - What is with this 20 bucks Mr Matt Darey owes you? I believe i have heard this before from someone else. Its becoming a clear pattern for our main man=2 0:)
D:FUSE – Yeah- I’m not sure how well his DJ career is going because I swear to God every time I see the guy I’m buying the round of drinks. And the second, third, fourth, and fifth. In fact, it’s probably a lot more than 20 bucks.

Katie - PEOPLE MIGHT THINK IM...............D:FUSE – drinking.
BUT THE TRUTH IS.........D:FUSE – I’m quite drunk.
Katie - AFTER A GIG YOU WILL FIND ME........
D:FUSE – passed out behind the DJ booth most likely in my own pool of vomit.
WHICH MEANS......... D:FUSE – I’m drunk.
Katie -Where are we going to find you in the coming months? On the road for a 30 city tour throughout North America and then moving on to South America and Asia later in the year. Also in the studio to record my first mix CD in 3 years called “Human Frequency” on Moist Music/Sony. In my downtime you’ll find me at the beach with an Umbrella overhead and one in my drink.
Thank you again for joining us on the show! Great to have you back :) Katie Tiae & The Nocturnal family
D:FUSE – Thanks for20having me and thanks again to Matt for supporting our tracks! Many more to come from Lost Angeles Recordings!
