| 16 Bit Lolitas Artist Profile |

| Real Names: | Peter Kriek & Ariaan Olieroock |
| Profile: | Peter Kriek and Ariaan Olieroock had been making music on their own for some time before joining forces and becoming 16 Bit Lolitas in 2003. This collaboration quickly produced a wave of releases. Tracks such as The Puppet Show, Destiny, My Lexicon, Stereo Control and the epic Sednaa quickly followed on labels as diverse as Yoshitoshi, Alternative Route , Release, Sadie, Plastic Fantastic, Nu Republic, Armada, Minimal, DK and LMR. They then decided to keep control of most of their material starting their own successful imprint “Bits and Pieces” shooting off club hit after hit. A hectic few years has propelled the boys into the spotlight where their crisp creations have carved out a sound that is both cool and sophisticated. It embraces all that is good about House music. |

Doves - Jetstream (The Time And Space Machine remix) [Virgin]
The Time & Space Machine is part of the UK school of psychedelic revivalism contrasting the psych noise work that I’ve talked about yesterday. The man behind the time machine, Richard Norris, is famed for being one half of Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve(BTWS), his past group The Grid with Soft Cell’s David Ball and his past collaborations with Genesis P. Orridge in Psychic TV. His debut LP weaves a trippy sonic nest of psychedelic beats, groove and fuzz guitar crossbreeding the best parts of breakbeat and jam rock.

Dirty South ft. Rudy - We Are (original mix) [Vicious Grooves]
The filthy curb-crawling new wave disco of Dirty South is a result of debauched years behind the decks and a lot of time spent at home creating his own musical fun. His Sleazy debut is the perfect introduction to the Dirty South school of naughty thought – a passionate electronik glam revenge on sadistic ghosts of past affairs. Dirty South caught the technically transmitted disease of DJing long before he even owned his first set of turntables. With the DJ bug in his blood, a young lad could be found teaching himself mixing skills on his NEC tape deck, utilising nothing more than its twin cassette players, a pause button and nimble fingers to recreate the sounds of club DJing in the safety of his own bedroom. At the start of 2008, Dirty South was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical category for his reworking of Kaskade's Sorry. He was beaten out on the night (by Benny Benassi) but he remains one of very few Australians to have ever been nominated for a Grammy.

Nadia Ali - Fine Print (Serge Devant remix)
Not very long after his humble beginnings studying classical music in the former Soviet Union, Serge’s early electronic career is already marked with the achievements of a seasoned veteran. He hit the coveted DJ Mag Top 100 List, became the youngest resident DJ at New York’s legendary Crobar and has rapidly garnered major corporate support. Clothing maker Armani Exchange has recently snatched him up to represent the brand while global giant Coca-Cola has brought Serge on board with an exclusive track for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Serge’s name will appear on special edition Coca-Cola bottles available in the U.S., China and Belgium and the track entitled “Peace on Earth” is currently available for free download on Coca-Cola’s web site (www.coca-cola.com/we8). With Serge on stage, crowds witness a skillful exhibition from one of the most promising young talents in the industry today.

V-Sag - Feather (DJ Tarkan remix) [The Sound Of Everything]
This collaboration between Turkey's most respected dj and also a great producer, and one of the best music talents in Greece, could not result to something else but a label regarding their deep progressive and tribal house style. The label also aims to support the no-smoking campaign. It aims to spread the message that music is your energy! No need for smoking and drugs. DJ Tarkan, who is one of the most significant names on the world electronic dance music scene has released his second album called Chapter Two. DJ Tarkan was voted Number 78 by DJ Magazine's most important dance music poll and is the first dj & producer from Turkey who entered the Top 100 DJ List since the poll has started.

The Juan Maclean - One Day (Marc Romboy remix) [DFA]
Electronic music with a certain break dance appeal - reminiscent of old school Chicago dance floor insanity - is Marc Romboy’s true passion. Working in dance music for over a decade, Romboy has co-founded and built internationally respected dance-music labels and projects, never tiring of coming up with fresh and innovative ideas to push the limits of electronic sounds. At aged five, Romboy was listening to The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd via his parents record collection, at eight he bought his first record ‘The Robots’ by fellow Düsseldorf inhabitants Kraftwerk (“I’ll never forget singing it to our local record dealer, trying to find what it was”). And, at aged ten, Romboy was djing. “I first began to spin records more or less when I was ten. I didn’t know that you called it djing, but I was always keen to play music at the parties of my friends or in my school class.” Romboy first discovered dance music in the mid 80s via the ‘strange’ Chicago sound that became apparent around him.

Robbie Rivera - Escape (Jochen Pash & Norm remix) [Catwalk]
While spinning his treasures as a regular at some of the hottest spots in Southern Germany, Stuttgart based DJ and Producer Jochen Pash is an integral part of the throbbing German House scene. Over the years, he has brought his individual and distinctive style to perfection. His little-in-use formula and definition of modern Housemusic comprises Deep, Vocal and Electronic House tunes. Its the groove and vibe of a track I care about. Apart from his outstanding skills at the mixer, his feeling for nuances and harmonies allows him to create emotional and versatile DJ sets. He knows how to cunningly apply the newest technical means. He knows how to cleverly build up to the climax. And he knows how to take his audience by surprise. His elaborate dj sets win over with great music selection and high entertainment factor.

DJ Preach ft. Matthew Ryan - American Dirt (Raver Concept mix) [In Charge]
Since 1996 Canadian Phillipe Babin, better known as DJ Preach to hundreds of thousands of fans around the world, has been spreading the message of electronic dance music to the masses – and they’ve been lapping it up. Born and raised in Quebec, Preach became interested in DJing from a young age and cut his teeth in his home city and in Montreal, honing his sound and skills at clubs like Sona and Aria before releasing early production work on Relentless, Ascend and Edit Recordings. Soon the grand masters began to pay him attention – Tiesto, Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Marco V were all early fans of the Preach sound, which began to filter out on major imprints such as Intec, MB Electroniks, Session and Iturnem. The world beckoned and in 2005, Preach made the permanent move to the musical hotbed of the Czech Republic in Eastern Europe.
