| Glenn Morrison Artist Profile |
| Real Name: | Glenn Morrison |
| Profile: | Glenn Morrison is used to living a life of superlatives – quite how he finds time to be one of life’s overachievers remains a mystery to those who know him. Whether it’s as a producer, remixer or label owner he seems to achieve in 24 hours what most of us can only manage in a week. But, despite this wealth of creative and business talent he has a reputation for being one of the most level-headed and likeable figures on the dance music scene today. Starting out as teenage classical piano prodigy (sometimes more a curse than a blessing) this precocious Canadian competed on the national stage from a young age. However, it wasn’t long before the dance floor beckoned and he made the sometimes difficult transition from well-mannered world of fugues and sonatas to club sound system. His love for all things dance was fostered at Toronto’s Release Records where Glenn developed his burgeoning interest in the business side of the industry with his first successful forays into label A&R. This ultimately lead to the foundation of his own record label, Morrison Recordings in 2005, which alongside an ever growing reputation for high-quality dance, is a serious player in the provision of tracks for videogames and movies. EA Sports, Activision, Rockstar, Sony, Universal, Mercedes Benz, Native Instruments, and Hugo Boss arejust some of the companies that have benefited from the distinctly hands-on approach that Glenn takes with all his projects. Not content with utilising his considerable business acumen (he will shortly be off to Harvard to complete his MBA), Glenn manages to be one of the major upcoming players in the global dance music scene. Hitting number one on the Beatport sales chart, remixing the Pet Shop Boys, Craig Armstrong, the B52’s, and Bernard Sumner (from New Order), signing tracks to EMI, Universal, Azuli, Positiva, Armada, Perfecto and Poker Flat, and getting props from the cream of the worlds top DJs (including Sasha, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Justice, Nick Warren, John Digweed, Laurent Garnier and Sven Vath) are just a slice of the last 12 months for this workaholic North American. As if this weren’t enough, Glenn has notched up considerable success as a DJ in his own right. His eclectic taste for all things considered proper club house has garnered him a variety of fans from varying core sound bases. From grainy screeching acid lines to lush ethereal progressive, this jack of all trades does it all and well. Having played in over 30 countries and at the best clubs and festivals worldwide – from LA to Rio to Tokyo to London - it seems that nothing can stop the Morrison rollercoaster.

Under the alias Timo Garcia, he joins the dots of our planet’s clubbing hotspots. Rocking crowds across Brazil, at London’s Ministry of Sound, around Russia, at all of Ibiza’s sharpest clubs and more: he is a global DJ. Whether spinning his own razor edged house productions, or mixing the tech and electro of others, he weaves sets stuffed with sonics from all over. But seeing and hearing the world in this way has uniquely improved the arsenal of sounds at his disposal as a DJ, and poignantly inform his productions. Be they glitched-out, guitar led or Hang Drum peppered, a Timo Garcia track is always on point.

Passenger 10 - Avantgarde (original mix) [Unreleased Digital]
Chris Reece is behind the Passenger 10 project. He had a few words to say for Nocturnal Readers. “It's summer time, midsummer here, everybody's away. But I'm still here working and so I've developed a new project. Made a track that sounds like more into Tech House style but with some strong cluby chords in it. I called the project PASSENGER 10. Just for me to imagine I would be one of them who's enjoying his holidays right now. Makes me feel like on a trip to nowhere. ;-) I'm the Passenger No. 10 even if I still rest here in studio. Hope it was worth that. Take a short listen to the mixes by clicking the pic below: Thanks again for your strong support in the past few months. I'm so grateful. Makes me strong and so I'm working even harder to put out more tunes for you to play. Speak soon and enjoy your weekend. – Chris

Pentatonik - Movements 2 (Matteo Marini remix) [Flat Belly Recordings]
Pentatonik has been described as 'bridging the gap between dance culture and classical music' (NME) but Bowring has existed away from the mainstream of electronica and techno, preferring to inhabit the same musical outposts as Brian Eno, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Philip Glass, Klaus Schulze and Vangelis. In this latest album Bowring's compositions only help emphasise Pentatonik’s development in sound, orchestration and music into a world that conjures up strong emotions, sweeping images and soundtrack adventures. 'A Thousand Paper Cranes' puts Bowring firmly into a place where he has always spiritually belonged, a world that could be thought of as electro-symphonic. Bowring has taken much inspiration from the events and the music of the first half of the 20th century. Emotionally involving, his melodies conjure up a time of fear and war but also of great courage and human endeavor. Musically he has been heavily influenced by the 'romantic' classical composers of the pre-war period, especially the works of Rachmaninoff to create his own musical film noir.

Inspired by the music, the djs and the clubs It was around this time that he initially started producing. It wasn't until late in 2007 that Andy signed his first track with Bonzai, which was released on their sub label Progrez. The track, titled Prevolution was well received and supported by DJ's such as John 00 Fleming. In 2008 Andy had a string of succesful releases; Revelations, released on heavyweight UK label Monster was played by Gareth Emery on the world famous Essential Mix on Radio 1, it was also played by Judge Jules on his Radio 1 show.
