| Redroche Artist Profile |
| Real Name: | Antoine & Gio Bartzis |
| Profile: | REDROCHE (pronounced RED-ROCK) is comprised of production duo and brothers, Antoine and Gio. Antoine showed interest in music at a fairly young age. His parents pushed him early on to study the violin but there was something that always attracted Antoine to pursue the drums. At the age of thirteen his parents agreed to let him purchase a five piece Pearl drum set and begin lessons. Within six months this youngster was turning the heads of many large bands in the area by entering in many “battle of the bands” and showing up to local jam hotspot to show off his talent. After high-school Antoine went to University leaving behind the dream of becoming a drummer in a band to focus on a degree in business. While at university he discovered a love for house music with the release of Daft Punk’s “Homework” and the ever popular “underground scene”. “This really changed my life and opened my eyes to a whole new world. The more I listened to this album, the more I got into it and a new appreciation for music was growing inside. I started exploring house music and the underground scene at the time and I was instantly hooked for life”. In 2000, Antoine graduated from university and returned to his home town. Once at home he had discovered that his brother Gio (other half of Redroche), had immersed himself into the same scene and fell in love with the same type of music and had progressed into the world of music production during the boom of the computer and all the new technology that was being put forth through various programs. Immersing themselves into production and the underground party scene in Canada, together they decided to create a company called “Eyezcream Entertainment” and become some serious promoters and bring talent to Canada from abroad. Turning the heads of major promoters in the Canadian underground club scene with some incredible shows and spending valuable time with many of these artists during these times instilled some great tips, advice and plans for the future. “We were highly successful in bringing acts to Canada for the first time, and even undiscovered talent from Canada to our parts of the country that no one was bringing at the time like STEVE ANGELLO, AXWELL, DJ DLG, OLAV BASOSKI, HATIRAS, MC FLIPSIDE, ANTOINE CLAMARAN, DAVE ARMSTRONG and THE RURALS for example. This was way before all of their success and fame within the industry today, which is super crazy now that we think about it.” Shortly after 911, the two brothers decided to make some serious changes and business ventures together. They pooled together and formed their very own label, what is now know as Eyezcream Recordings. At the same time, they decided to build a small soft studio in their basement and begin productions under the alias “Redroche”. “It was crazy to experience. We literally didn’t know what we were doing. We all piled into a car and drove to Miami to promote our first single. Twenty two hours of driving in the car, with only fifty vinyls we finally made it to South Beach. That’s all the promo material we had at the time, but we seriously worked it to everyone we seen. By the end of the trip we knew everyone there, and everyone was playing our track at parties everywhere;, which at the time was “release the tension” and “Make your Move” by Dave Armstrong”. That summer “Make Your Move” earned a gold record and pushed the label to new heights and had every major label finally looking at Eyezcream for licensing new material. Eyezcream now is highly respected in the industry and has started out some serious careers and continues to do so to this day. In 2004, after countless hours in the studio, the first release by Redroche is born. An incredible collaboration with DJ DLG called “On the Run” is released. It was an instant hit with crowds at the 2005 WMC conference and licensed too many compilations (such as Ministry of Sound Annual); and receiving some serious airtime by some of dance music’s elite tastemakers. . “We couldn’t believe the reaction we received. Greatest feeling was looking out into the crowd at Nikki Beach (during WMC at the first Robbie Rivera - Juicy Party) with almost 5000 people at the complex and hearing everyone sing along to ON THE RUN while we were DJing on Stage. Having producers like Yves La Rock, Robbie Rivera, Antoine Clamaran, Laidback Luke and Cedric Gervais give you props after your set; was something we will never forget”. Returning from the 2005 WMC events, Redroche was inspired and went straight into the studio to producer a sexy banger that was licensed by Germany’s heavyweight label – KONTOR. Collaborating again with DJ DLG and vocalist/songwriter YOTA proved to have great results as the track worked its way into many Germany and European dance charts and garnishing the attention of many other labels and artists. After this release, Redroche called on Dave Armstrong to visit their studio to work on a sample they had stumbled over. After a few months of toying around, the first version of “Love Has Gone” was shortly finished as an instrumental on Eyezcream Recordings and got the attention of Ministry of Sound Annual that year and many other famous compilations but the single needed a vocalist. The two year wait would attest that “good things do come to those who wait”. For the next year Redroche would go on to play around the world from Australia to Europe and all around North America in addition to building a new studio and focusing on improving productions for their new sound that was about to be unleashed. 2007 seemed to be the catalyst for Redroche’s career as credible producers. The year began with discovery of Estelle’s little sister named H-Boogie (Estelle from American Boy fame that was produced with Kanye West). H-Boogie provided vocals and songwriting abilities beyond Redroche’s expectations for the single “Love Has Gone”. It turned out to be a highly successful, number 1 chart topping, top 40 release around the world and licensed to over fifteen countries around the globe. The single and video’s success around the world was due to a license by Ministry of Sound UK and Hed Kandi’s power in the dance music industry. The video was spectacular with over a million views on YOUTUBE in over a month, in addition to becoming a top ten on all MTV dance shows. This definitely put a spot light on Redroche. To keep the momentum going, Redroche over the next few months went on to release a string of releases as a stand alone artist starting with “EP.1” on Eyezcream and “FEVER” on Huge records. Finally, the attention and massive support from superstar DJ’s, radio pluggers and producers such as Pete Tong, Tiesto, Eric Morillo, Paul Van Dyke, The D.O.N.S., Roger Sanchez, Laidback Luke and Carl Cox to name a few, was pouring in and consistent. End of 2007, to the end of 2008 we see the demand for Redroche productions in full capacity. Completing some high profile remixes for such artists as ROBYN, LORRAINE, CARL KENNEDY vs M.Y.N.C. PROJECT, YOAV, ALANIS MORISETTE, KUSH, ADDICTIVE FT. T2, GABRIEL & DRESDEN, ERIC MORILLO, OLAV BASOSKI, DENNIS THE MENACE & BIG WORLD, DON DIABLO, EDX to name but a few out of the twenty or more remixes in one year’s time is truly an amazing feet. To say that Redroche is in-demand at the moment would be an understatement. Finding time to release another single on the every popular JOIA records called “Family” and his current hit on Eyezcream Recordings called “Give You More” which is being championed by the likes of AXWELL, Eric Morillo, The D.O.N.S., EDX, Chris Lake and countless others. If you are going to bet on anything in 2009, bet that you will see Redroche finally break into the scene as an artist and a DJ. With a storm of more high profile remixes, DJ performances, more original material being created and working towards his first artist album means that 2009 is going to be an interesting year to say the least! Stay Tuned.

Dennis De Laat - Sound Of Violence (Filthy Rich remix) [Confidence]
As a talented Producer/DJ Filthy Rich’s innovative sound has made him undeniably one of the country’s finest DJs today. A promising figure looming out from the crowd, Rich is the complete package. Effortlessly leaving his contemporaries behind, he leaps and bounds into a league of his own laughing to himself as he does it. This is because Rich knows the secret to getting this far – is playing music that he loves, for people to dance to. Without dictating to the crowd, Rich has become popular with everyone from the techno train-spotter, to the handbag honey through his envy-inducing music. His tight mixes and twisted sounds mean nothing is ever a disappointment. Flying between everything from sleazy tech-house, to dirty minimal, to irresistible electro with an old classic thrown in just because he can, Rich delivers such perfection it hurts. Springing from his early dreams of dance music via a backstreet upbringing of filth, Rich has clawed his way to the top, earning such prestigious residencies as the international Kissdafunk, the glamorous Hat Club to the dark and dirty Very Very Wrong Indeed. He has now smashed it home with bi-monthly dates at Ministry of Sound, proving he has the ability to top his cake with more than one shiny sweet cherry.

Odissi - Empty Vodka Bottles (Kid Blue remix) [Lot49]
He first came to attention as promoter and resident DJ at the legendary Technique night in Leeds, which spearheaded a new, open-minded approach to dance music, mixing genres and DJs together in a way few had before. Kid Blue was at the forefront of this, not only programming the night but mixing up house, breaks, techno and electro to a fiercely loyal and up for it crowd and playing alongside legendary names. T he start of 2009 saw Kid Blue found promotions company Dimebox, establishing his own London-based night in conjunction with Meat Katie’s Lot49 records called, simply, Lot49. Showcasing the deep, underground tech-funk sounds that are synonymous with his DJ sets, the first events have been road-blocks – ‘without doubt one of the best new additions to London clubbing’ (Spoonfed).

Anne Rani - Fall (Kosheen DJ's vocal remix) [Operating System]
Let The Reign of Anne Rani Begin … “Fall” is a clear statement of intent… Anne Rani is back and this time she’s gone deep, dark and oh so delicious on us. With new hot remixes from UK based, legendary D&B/Electro house icons Kosheen Dj’s, Illinton and Danish based Robutterflys. “Fall” is the first fruit of the fledgling partnership between one of Denmark’s hottest dance music talents, singer, songwriter and full-time diva Anne Rani, and the UK’s exceptionally innovative Illinton. And the result is music that lays heavy on dub, house, drum and bass and funky electronic influences, but defies lazy categorization. Put simply it is a new sound, a departure for each half of the creative partnership, and one which promises to deliver top quality every time, from the headphones of your personal soundtrack to the collective funk and sweat of the dance-floor.

Tomcraft - Somethings Wrong (original mix) [Craft Music]
Tomcraft - Look Around (original mix) [Craft Music]
There is hardly a metropolis on earth that has not heard Tomcraft as a Dj, and that rightfully so. Typical of his tracks is the hypnotic bass and the always perfectly matched tempo with which he gets the masses to dance everywhere. This characteristic, coupled with his openness to other music genres and his unaltered down-to-earth personality certainly makes him one of the most interesting artists in electronic music in our country.

Lazy Jay - Float My Boat (Moguai remix) [Big & Dirty Records]
Miami, Montevideo, Melbourne, Mailand ..... and Marl. Marl, the northernmost town of Germany's Ruhr area, which may not be a household name to you, but it fits perfectly in our story, which also begins with the letter M. M for music and M for Moguai, the star performer of our tale. He has been a leading figure in the electronic music scene for more than a decade, setting new standards in production, as so many music lovers have had the pleasure of witnessing. His DJ sets are no less remarkable, surround sound experiences for countless clubbers. So why are we casting a glance back to the apparently unremarkable place where it all began? Because this is the starting point for Moguai the artist's continuing journey across the globe. Welcome to the kinetic highway.

Muzikjunki & Marco Den Held - Look Deeper (Davydov & Pincher remix) [Boom Tsjak (Flashover)]
1974 was a good year, the year where the Dutch soccer team lost the finals despite having a better team with players such as Cruyff, Neeskens, Rep, Schrijvers…legendary names that wrote history during a tournament where the Dutch stamped their mark on soccer and how it should be played. 1974 was also the year where Dani Hageman aka Muzikjunki was born, little did he know about soccer and even today he couldn’t care less. It’s all about music for him, always has been and always will be as it looks now and like other fellow Dutchmen he’s slowly stamping his own mark on today’s house music. Muzikjunki originates from Rotterdam and knowing these things it becomes clearer that his sound seems to contain the same elements that producers from Holland all share, Energy!
