Morgan Page Artist Profile

Real Name: Morgan Page
Profile:

Layering memorable pop-driven lyrics over the crisp synths and pounding beats of progressive house, Morgan Page has emerged from under the radar with a unique sound that connects with dance music veterans and newcomers alike. And with one GRAMMY®-nominated song and two IDMA nominations (Best Breakthrough Artist and Best Progressive House/Trance Track) in 2009 alone, Producer, Remixer, and DJ MORGAN PAGE has firmly established himself as one of the top talents of the next generation of dance music producers.

Driven, technically savvy, and down-to-earth, the Burlington, Vermont native was already hooked on electronic music by age 15. His early exposure to the genre started with radio, inspired by the sounds of local college radio station WRUV 90.1 FM. Only a few short years later, Morgan found himself a DJ at that very radio station, hosting a weekly mixshow that brought him into the world of house music and club culture. It was in these humble beginnings that he set his goals, and he set them high.

Morgan's attraction to memorable hooks and energetic beats, and his singled-pointed focus on achieving a high level of technical skill in studio paved the way for his classic bootleg album, Cease and Desist. With no parts or acapellas, Morgan's remixes of hits from Coldplay, Imogen Heap, and David Bowie quickly became an underground hit and brought him into focus as a bright, emerging remixer.

Morgan Page is now a force to be reckoned with - an established triple threat of DJing, remixing, and original production. This hotly sought after producer and remixer – whose recent mixes include tracks for La Roux, Madonna, Katy Perry, The B-52s, and Yoko Ono – has created a signature style that effortlessly blends melody, harmony, and rhythm – bringing songs to new heights, while never forgetting a sense of song.

Morgan’s first official album release, ELEVATE, established him as one of the brightest rising stars in electronic music, garnering him a GRAMMY nomination for the Deadmau5 remix of hit single "The Longest Road", and two International Dance Music Award nominations as "Best Break-Through Artist (Solo)" and "Best Progressive House/Trance Track" for his original version of "The Longest Road."

Maximo Park - Lets Get Clinical (Tom Middletons Twisted mix) [Warp Records]
To the untrained eye Tom Middleton is just another DJ. Beard, box of records, bounces behind the decks. You seen one, you’ve seen them all, right? Wrong. You see Tom isn’t just a DJ. He’s a scientist; a meticulous technician with a thirst for all musical forms from break beat to baroque. Many believe he was born with these razor sharp skills. Classically trained in piano and cello Tom understood music’s essential rudiments and theory long before he could grow those iconic whiskers on his chin. It’s this adept understanding of the true technicalities of music – how it works, how arrangements compliment each other and how you can convey the strongest message – that’s helped him carve a unique career that’s spanned from his deep space delights with Mark Pritchard as Global Communication and Jedi Knights to last year’s breathtaking debut album ‘Life Tracks’, a homage to the ambient and soundtrack music. To this day he refuses to sample other people’s music, preferring instead to create his own sounds using virtual orchestra and band software he’s programmed himself.

Moby - One Time We Lived (Laurent Wolf remix) [Little Idiot]
Sound, mix, nightclubs... Laurent Wolf has been dedicating his life to electronic music since the age of twelve. He was discovered in 1992 as he was doing his first sets in Paris: he was proposed to hold a weekly mixer party at the Queen, the mythical nightclub of the Champs Elysées. Laurent Wolf has worked for the Queen for 10 years, mixing up to three nights a week. The Queen was a real stepping stone for his DJ career. Thanks to his effective remixes, Laurent Wolf has established himself as an inventive DJ, dynamic and attentive to his public. After non-stop producing remixes for record companies, Laurent decides to create his own record label. In 1995, he releases House Train. The single quickly becomes a number one and shows Laurent's undeniable gift for house music production, often tinted with more avant-gardism electro music.

Tone Depth - Rumblefish (Tone Depth 10 Year Anniversary mix) [Bedrock Records]
Tone Depth Biography After blowing blowing minds with his 2000 debut on Paul Oakenfold’s “Another World” Compilation, the then unknown Tone Depth (Tony Papadopoulos) showed he was a talent to watch. Almost a decade later, he can count himself among the most innovative and respected electronic DJ/Producers in the world. In true fairy tale fashion, a chance sighting of Paul Oakenfold at an airport led to Tone’s passing along a demo, kicking off what can already be described as an illustrious career with his productions getting signed to labels run by the worlds top international DJ’s (Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Armin Van Burren, Deep Dish, John Digweed to name a few…) and frying up classic remixes like Armin Van Buren “Who Is Watching” ft. Nadia Ali. Tone Depths productions have also featured on numerous world renound compilations suchs as Global Underground, Renaissance, etc…. and continue to be supported by the worlds top DJ’s. With his releases being played by top DJ’s in clubs worldwide, and demand for his work increasing, Tone Depth is determined to keep honing his live skils on the global club circuit. Dada Life - Lets Get Bleeped Tonight (Moguai remix) [Big & Dirty Records]
Miami, Montevideo, Melbourne, Mailand ..... and Marl. Marl, the northernmost town of Germany's Ruhr area, which may not be a household name to you, but it fits perfectly in our story, which also begins with the letter M. M for music and M for Moguai, the star performer of our tale. He has been a leading figure in the electronic music scene for more than a decade, setting new standards in production, as so many music lovers have had the pleasure of witnessing. His DJ sets are no less remarkable, surround sound experiences for countless clubbers. So why are we casting a glance back to the apparently unremarkable place where it all began? Because this is the starting point for Moguai the artist's continuing journey across the globe. Welcome to the kinetic highway.

Tomcraft - Can't Believe The Stripper (original mix) [Craft Music]
There is hardly a metropolis on earth that has not heard Tomcraft as a Dj, and that rightfully so. Typical of his tracks is the hypnotic bass and the always perfectly matched tempo with which he gets the masses to dance everywhere. This characteristic, coupled with his openness to other music genres and his unaltered down-to-earth personality certainly makes him one of the most interesting artists in electronic music in our country. The secret of this versatile man may lie in the fact that his everyday life is as constant as the bass in his tracks. This might be the reason why, for almost two decades now, he has managed to attract party-hungry kids to the dancefloors. He never lost his constant quest for new sound, collects old instruments in his studio and also has a great deal of highly positive energy in his life with his family which in turn inspires him and be-wings his creative thoughts. One thing certain, Tomcraft is an artist with many talents who knows exactly how to implement them so as to keep us getting spellbound and excited over and over again.

Parasol Stars - Ibiza Sunrise [Parasol Phonothque]
Producers for many years, we focus our music to a style definitely club oriented and dancefloor efficient.
Our only goal is to make a fresh and festive sound to make people dance, with our own creations as well as remixes that we sign. Lovers of electronic music for nearly 20 years, we followed the evolution of this musical style until today. Having lived the golden age of this sound in the early 90, participating at the first raves in France, we are still attached to the roots of this movement. Our passion remaining intact, we are making some revival mix sessions. This is not in contradiction with our productions, definitely club oriented and dancefloor efficient. For us, this new musical style is the sequel of this original sound that inspires more than one today. – Parasol Stars

Monaque - ID (original mix) [Vapour]
Two DJ / Producers (Serge Que and Alex Monakhov) from different corners of the world. One grew up in New York and was going to clubs and DJing since he was 14 years old, the other is from Moscow and never cared to go. After their meeting through mutual friends both realized that their music styles were extremely similar, and that both of them were looking for a studio partner that would make one quit and the other one start, and Monaque was born. Many releases later they are one of the most sought after production teams on the Russian scene. With releases on Australian Vapour Recordings, EPs on Evapour8 and two remixes for the American giant Ultra records, their style varies with each project. For System Recordings and Stripped Muzik its minimal techno with a bassy groove, for Ultra it’s a tech-prog monster that starts out as house before the break and then storms back with speaker destroying intensity, everything is written from scratch and every time its it’s totally different. With the guys now in the studio working on their first artist album for Vapour, numerous singles and remixes in the works and with a residency at the best underground club in Russia, ARMA17 which is home to Viva, Cocoon, Renaissance, and Matinee, their success in the dance music industry is,,, well,,, who the hell knows.

Aeron Aether - Aikhy (original mix) [Pitch Music]
Aeron Aether (Gábor Kovács) is a Hungarian composer, producer and a “researcher-experimentalist” of electronic sound. :) Besides studying electrical engineering, he dedicated his whole life to composing and listening music. Unfortunately he studied music for only a few years, where he learned the tricks of playing cello, but what really impressed him were the synthesizers, realizing he could achieve stunning extraterrestrial sounds with this instrument. Always being interested in unusual, non worldly things, all that is unique, special, what makes you travel to other worlds and create strong, effusive emotions in any direction. Aeron experimented with almost every electronic style of music during his life, but has a strong affection towards live orchestra and symphonic music, which influenced him deeply. He would gladly attempt composing soundtracks too, because the biggest challenge is to achieve composing music which match a certain emotional attitude. He assumed the name 'Aeron' after his last change of styles. His goal, is to produce an artist album in the near future, to assemble a semi electronic, semi live musical formation, composing soundtracks for films and continuously bringing more and more interesting music for us to enjoy.
