Inpetto Artist Profile

Real Names: Marco and Dirk Duderstadt
Profile:

“Inpetto create amazing productions with a fantastic balance of beautiful melodies and power for the dancefloor.” - Axwell

When one of dance music’s leading exponents sings your praise people should take note. In a relatively short period of time siblings Marco and Dirk Duderstadt have built a name for themselves that’s propel them to the forefront of the European house movement. Yet unlike many that have sold out to commercialism or believed their own hype, the boys from Dorsten, Germany, have never strayed far from their original blueprint, and it’s that level consistency that has made them a clear favourite amongst their peers, and elevated them to critical acclaim as producers, remixers and DJs.

“They did a great job on the ‘Everytime We Touch’ remix of my single (with Steve Angelo & Sebastian Ingrosso)… they’re fantastic producers.” - David Guetta

No strangers to commercial success they also make up two-thirds of the dance act Fragma, who alongside Hardfloor alumni Ramon Zenker, topped just about every club chart in 1999 with their debut release, ‘Toca’s Miracle’. A year later they reached the apex of the coveted UK singles chart with the re-issue, while their album, ‘Toca’, proved they were no one-hit wonders yielding further hits including the top five singles ‘Everytime You Need Me’ and ‘You Are Alive’. While always keen to keep one-foot in the underground, the brothers also record under the Duderstadt moniker that invariably finds the EDM community salivate over their acclaimed trance and cutting edge electronica productions; Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten just three of the heavyweight names regularly supporting their music.

“Inpetto and Duderstadt are among the most consistent producers in the progressive and trance genres.” - Above & Beyond

But it’s as Inpetto, the nom de plume of their more progressive orientated house material, that the duo is now fully focusing their attention. It was originally back in 1999, having hit on the Inpetto name (it’s an Italian translation of the Latin in pectoral: ‘in the secret of the heart’) that they recorded their debut, ‘Brahmaputra’, that was subsequently released by No Respect. Although it would take a further eight-years (spent promoting Fragma) before the boys finally returned to issue their sophomore single, ‘Mocking Cliffchat’, on their own Boorsheece Records imprint.

Post production on a handful of releases the last few years has been widely acclaimed, including remixes for David Guetta with Angello & Ingrosso ‘Everytime We Touch’, Andrea Doria & LXR ‘The Beauty Of Silence’, Moguai ‘Beatbox’, Who's Who - Klack, Paul Van Dyk ‘For An Angel’, Meck ‘So Strong’ and Armin van Buuren ‘If You Should Go’. Additionally they added a new twist to their own epochal recording, ‘Toca’s Miracle’, in the process helping it return to the UK top 20 singles chart for an impressive third time.

“Their remix of ‘So Strong’ is probably the best mix I commissioned in 2008. They have a style that appeals across the board… sonically they’re up there with the best.” - Craig Dimech, Meck

Florian Gasperini ft. Nasty Dee - We Can Stop (Fanzi remix) [Vector Records]
Born in Brittany (France) in 1977, Fanzi began his artistic career by playing piano during several years. As a music technology fan, he was a Techno Trance DJ in a Radio Station in North of France (Radio Galaxie 95.3 FM). After living one year in Mexico for studies, he spent 5 years living in Barcelona (Spain) and began Music Production at this time. In 2008 he came back in the North of France. His influences are going from the 80s to nowadays, especially new wave and all kind of electronic music, energetic, metallic sounds and liquid deep waves. The quality of his sound production has been recognized in his latest productions such as "Rendez Vous", "Clockinn", or "Conference" which are more Progressive House focussed...He is lately inspired by a funky acoustic trend, as you can listen in productions like "Mac Jazzer", "Funky Performer", "Let the Party Burn!" or "Music"...

Martin Solveig - Give It To Me (Compuphonic & Kolombo mix) [Mixture]
2009 couldn’t have gone much better for Martin Solveig who has long been synonymous with forward-thinking electronic music for over a decade. Fresher than ever, the Frenchman’s whirlwind year has seen him adorned by his homeland as well as re-establishing himself as an electro-pop icon, not to mention breaking into the top 50 of DJ Mag’s prestigious Top 100 poll. With over ten years in the industry under his belt, the French maestro continues to ‘woo’ audiences around the world and he has the awards to prove it. Relentlessly keeping one step ahead of the game, with ‘Boys & Girls’ still bubbling successfully and Martin back in the studio, 2010 looks set for Solveig to step up once again… but hey… what do you expect from the irrepressible, formidable Frenchman.

Tegan & Sara - Alligator (Morgan Page remix) [Citrusonic]
Vermont native Morgan Page began making electronic music at the age of 12. After gaining the attention of jockeys at local free-form radio stations, Page -- prior to graduating from high school -- began DJing himself on the University of Vermont's station. There, his horizons and knowledge about dance music broadened significantly, especially when it came to house. After taking up an internship at the Plastic City label, Page initiated a steady release schedule that saw a handful of 12" singles scattered each year from 2000 through 2006. In addition to appearing on labels like Nordic Trax, Fiji, Bedrock, Saw, LowDown, and Force Tracks, Page remixed singles for Terry Lee Brown, Jr., Ashlee Simpson, and Men, Women & Children. Nettwek Records took note and signed Page for the release of 2008's Elevate, a collection of remixes and original songs.

Schodt - You And Me (Sundriver remix) [Silk Royal Recordings]

Schodt has been hailed as one of the great breakthrough stories in progressive house this past year. His work, which lends itself to the sets of house, progressive, and trance DJ's alike, has been heavily praised by a wide variety of international artists, including Matt Darey, Chris Reece, Jerome Isma-Ae, and Mango. "You and Me" represents his "crossover" style well: a house rhythm develops quickly into a more aggressive, trance-influenced sound, including a resonant and uplifting lead chord progression. The spoken vocal sample, which gives the track its romantic name, also soon appears in the build. In the main break, the chords take on a new progression and are given a more poignant effect by a glorious symphony of strings. Prominent Ukrainian producer Sunn Jellie provides an even clubbier (and euphoric) alternative to the original. Re-imagined as a classical progressive trance anthem, Sunn Jellie has captured the jubilant spirit of the original, while making it his own with a completely new lead. In the third and final take in the package, Polish sensation Sundriver provides an equally trance-y, yet moodier interpretation than the prior two. Capitalizing on the Original Mix's darker tones, including the foreboding vocal sample, Sundriver offers a bittersweet vision of love's perpetual tug of war.

Halifax - Reveal Your Innocence (Samuel Jason remix) [Captured]
Mark Otten aka Halifax has taken the international music industry by surprise. Mark’s recent success has been no coincidence though. While most dance-producers start their careers as dj’s, Mark comes from a musician’s side. Both parents were involved in making music, which always meant plenty of instruments at hand as well as lots of positive stimulation. Born in The Netherlands in 1978, multi-instrumentalist Mark started out as a drummer and quickly expanded his interests to other more melodic instruments, such as percussion, (bass-) guitars and keyboards. From an early age on Mark practiced and performed with various bands and workshops. House music captured his attention from the start and a synthesizer allowed him the chance to start recording songs. Soon after, he found new possibilities using the computer for producing and quickly became an expert in this field as well. His first break-through took place at a high-school gig where he was discovered by a Sony producer. This quickly lead to several early releases with a techno edge. He rapidly got ready to conquer the scene with his first love: melodic and emotional music, this time in the form of trance with a progressive drive. Be assured Mark Otten will be featuring more fantastic music.
