'Chance Jumpers' started in August 2004 as three friends carried away by electronic dance music, in the very beginning their main goal was bringing and promoting modern electronic sound directions in their native city of Saint Petersburg in Russia and later producing their own tracks which Chance Jumpers describe as 'progressive trance'; but during the first year of team-work they found themselves in deep/progressive house with some elements of tech house. Newer tunes by CJ were supported by numerous DJs in Russia and all over the world, nowadays the guys continue working with Russia's most upfront progressive producers such as Ilya Malyev (Baltic Sound), 4Mal, Solesystem and Neoblizz, Shifted Reality, DJ Feel Ormatie. Except being a production trio, Chance Jumpers appear in the DJ booth in Saint Peterburg's nightclubs and arrange their own parties. Chance Jumpers are residents of the Saint peterburg..s club called Cafe Deep. Today they have a radioshow on the "ETN.FM" station. His voice was used for tv and radio spot for Smart, Lotto, Fiat, he was testimonial for brands like Burn, Mtv, Camel Yahama, Axe, Robe di Kappa, Levi’s, World Dj Fund. He won 1999 Dj Awards in Pacha Ibiza for his contribute to dijing industry. The best thing is to follow his during his radio show and during his Supalova one-night. The Time & Space Machine is part of the UK school of psychedelic revivalism contrasting the psych noise work that I’ve talked about yesterday. The man behind the time machine, Richard Norris, is famed for being one half of Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve(BTWS), his past group The Grid with Soft Cell’s David Ball and his past collaborations with Genesis P. Orridge in Psychic TV. His debut LP weaves a trippy sonic nest of psychedelic beats, groove and fuzz guitar crossbreeding the best parts of breakbeat and jam rock.

Monarchy - The Phoenix Alive (Kris Menace remix) [This Is Music]
Monarchy is a duo based out of the UK, and are taking the Daft Punk approach to secret identities. Not much is know about them other than they produces stellar electronic pop. Black the Colour of My Heart is my favorite track of theirs thus far with it’s soulful vocal delivery and it’s minimal drum backing. Reminds me of a mix between Sam Sparro (Black and Gold) and Maroon 5.

Way Out West - Surrender (Eelke Kleijn remix) [Hope Recordings]
It is difficult to describe Eelke’s sound in a few words though. “I am easily bored with music, I don’t like recycling sounds and ideas all the time”, he explains. “As with my DJ sets, I need variety in order to remain interested in what I’m doing. Producing different styles is almost like a way to express the different moods I’m in”. The signing of ‘”Walkabout” on Ork Recordings with Nick Hogendoorn is a perfect example, receiving critical acclaim from artists as diverse as Fish Go Deep, Nic Fanciulli and Anthony Pappa. Outside the Box Music, Eelke’s label launched in 2006, reflects his taste in music like nothing else. Many releases are not easy to pigeonhole into a certain style but instead cross the conventional borders between them. Eelke’s ambitions don’t stop at dance music however. His production work for Nike shows a very different side of his music, balancing on the fine line between hip hop and electronica. In 2009 Eelke wrote music for their “V is for Victory” and “Create_Space” campaigns. Meanwhile Eelke has continued his work in the studio. New tracks and remixes are due throughout 2009, and it is rumoured a new artist album is in the making as well. Rest assured, this is probably not the last we will hear from Mr. Kleijn.

In the last few years there has been a proliferation in the amount of people producing really good techno, acid, minimal and everything in between. The majority of these producers are new,but Robert Babicz (aka Rob Acid) is an example of an older producer that has managed to stay relevant by reinventing his sound (to some extent). Many of his new tracks have that trademark acid sound, but what we are listening to is most definitely acid for the 21st century. This man is not stuck in the 1990s, him and his machinedrum are moving with the times. The last year or two have seen a series of quality releases for Babicz on labels like Punkt, Treibstoff and K2, making him a producer to keep an eye on.
